A Prayer Before Communion

O Lord, I am not worthy to have You under the roof of my house because  I am a
sinner. Just say a word, and my soul will be healed. Tell my soul that my sins
are forgiven. I lack all righteousness and now there  is  nothing  left for me
except Your mercy and Your love for mankind. You have descended from the glory
of Heaven to our humble world and  were  born in a  manger. Accept, O Lord, my
worthless  soul  as it awaits  Your splendid presence. You  did not disdain to
enter the house of the leper to heal him, so please permit O Lord, to enter my
heart to purify  it.  You did  not forbid the sinful woman  to kiss Your feet,
so,  please  do not deprive  me from partaking  of the Holy  Communion. Let me
unite with You that You may rid  me of  all  impurities and  of all my earthly
desires.  Make me  act according  to Your  life-giving  commandments, for  the
purification of my soul and body from all sins. Open my eyes  and heart that I
may accept Your Gifts and Blessings and let Your Holy Spirit  abide in me that
I may unite with You and live for the glory of Your Holy Name.
