To seat them on their Bishoprics, HG Anba Sarabamoun, Anba Mitaous, and Anba Isothoros will travel to Italy. HH has prepared a special tradition for the ceremonies. Each Bishop will attend the seating ceremony of the other. It is also expected that some of our Bishops in Europe will attend the ceremonies. HG Anba Kirolous will be seated in our Monastery in Milan while HG Anba Bernaba, Bishop of Torino, will be seated in the newly bought residency in Rome. This residency occupies 20,000 square meters of land. It was bought on April, 12th, 1996. The Celebration of 42 years of Monasticism of HH ================================================ In the occasion of 42 years of Monasticism of HH, a celebration is to be held in the Monastery of St. Bishoy on July 18th, 1996. The celebration is to be attended by Bishops, Monks, some Priests, and some of the Congregational Council members. As many of the Bishops will come for this celebration, a seminar will be held for the Holy Synod members on July, 18th and 19th. The Congregational Council held a meeting at 7PM on July, 11th, 1996 headed by HH Pope Shenouda III. ============================================================= HH received on July, 3rd HG Anba Bishoy and HG Anba Binyameen before their visit to Austria to attend the meeting of Pro-Oriente in Vienna. They should return back before the celebration mentioned above. HG Anba Rewais will travel to England on July 20th where he will pray in the churches of Credon, London, Briton, and Birmingham. Then, HG will pray the first mass in St. Mary church, Montreal after renovations on August, 28th. HH Pope Shenouda III is expected to formally open the church in the end of November. Shenouda Kallini, New Orleans, USA Depending on HG Anba Tadros questionnaire to the congregations in some of USA and Canada churches, some Papal decrees were issued to form Church Councils in the following churches: 1. St. Antonious church, San Francisco 2. St. Mary church, Sacramento 3. St. Mary and Anba Abraam church, St. Lewis 4. Our churches in St. Hosy and Monterey. Those Papal decrees will be published in the next issue =============================================================== HH is preparing a library for the Theological Seminary by purchasing books in Theological sciences, Bible studies, and Holy Fathers proverbs. HH delegated Fr. Mikhail Edward, our priest in Cleveland, and Fr. Athanasious Farag, our priest in Reserford to select the necessary books and send them. The library welcomes any copies of books as presents from the authors. HH visited Anba Mina, head of St. Mina Monastery in Cairo Kidney Center and Hospital. HH prayed for HG. HH accompanied by HG Anba Youannes were received by Dr. Rashad Barsoum, director of the hospital Congratulations to the well known History scientist, Younan Labib Rizk, who was honored by the Valuation Prize of Egypt, which is the highest value prize in Egypt. HH has received Dr. Rizk, and congratulated him for this honor. Theological Seminary Chorus in France ===================================== HH delegated the Theological Seminary Chorus after HH received an invitation from Dr. Barsoum Matar and Fr. Abraam, our priests in Paris with co-operation of a musical institute in France so that the Chorus will perform some the Coptic Al-han there. Dr. Ashraf Sadek was responsible for arranging for the trip which will take about two weeks. The Chorus will be represented by: Mlm. Ibrahim Ayad, Mayz Georgy Sweha, Ashraf Nageh Abdel Gaber, Anton Abdel Messih Matoshaleh, Athanasious Elqis Mankarious Tawdrous, Helmi Nessim Ghaleb, Ragaii Fayez Shakhloul, and Milad Makraam Shehata. Choir and Praise Team for the Coptic Theater ============================================ For the first time, an international festival of music invited a Coptic choir to represent the Coptic church in the Chezk republic from July, 11th to 21st. More than 61 countries will participate in the festival. The team has 30 members from Cairo churches led by Dr. Osama Asham. HH received the choir members on July 8th. =============================== After attending the seminar held by the Ecumenical Pope in Khalki, Turkey, HG Anba Serapion has returned to Egypt on a one-day-transit. Then, HG traveled to Ethiopia to attend a preliminary meeting of the All Africa Council of Churches (AACC) to prepared for the General Assembly which is held every seven years. HG returned back to Cairo on July 9th, then HG went to his Bishopric in LA HH has discussed with HG the expected visit in the end of November. The Passing Away of Fr. Marcos Ghali ==================================== The Passing Away of Fr. Marcos Ghali has impacted our emotions. Fr. Ghali spent 59 years in clergy. He as a priest has seen five Popes (Pope Youannes IXX, Pope Makarious III, Pope Yousab II, Pope Kirolous VI, and Pope Shenouda III). Fr. Ghali was a Patriarchate representative from 1968. Fr. Ghali was born on August, 11th, 1917. He joined the Theological Seminary and graduated in 1937. He was ordained in the same year as a priest of Mar-Gurguis church, Kolali, then he moved to St. Mary church, Masara, Shoubra in 1952. Then, he served in The Angel church, Tosson from 1961. In his days, the multi-purpose church hall was built. The priests working with him were four. Fr. Ghali was a minister of about 300 priest in Cairo. Fr. Ghali has started his church service since he was a student in the Theological Seminary where he established a preaching society to serve in Cairo premises. His activities made it possible to ordain him in 1937. His success in service as a priest made HH Pope Kirolous VI appoint him as a Patriarchate Representative. He continued his job till he passed away on July, 2nd after severe struggle. HH led the funeral service accompanied by 16 of the Bishops and many priests. President Hosny Mobarak delegated Colonel Ismail Abdel Aziz to offer his condolence. Many formal delegations as well came to offer condolence. The next day of the funeral was the Arbeen of his wife.
